Guide tape and support ring

Empire guide tapes and support rings provide excellent resistance to abrasion and corrosion, low friction, good thermal stability, excellent electric insulation, long service life, good mechanical strength and precise dimensions, and are free from distortion under pressure and have good guiding and supporting performance. Our products are available in various types and may be used with primary seal in oil cylinders and air cylinders of different types.

 

I. Guide tape

1. Material: PTFE+ copper powder, Phenol Formaledlyde win fabric inserts and wood

2. Function: It serves as a flexible tape for guiding and sealing purpose on piston or piston rod, to ensure balanced movement of piston and piston rod when subject to lateral pressure and to protect them from deviation caused by uneven forces applied, which may cause abrasion between metal piston and piston rod against the cylinder body or internal leakage and reduces service life of sealing parts.

3. Working temperature: -40°C~+120°C in normal conditions.

4. Technical specification:

(1) Thickness depends on the sum of groove depth on piston or cylinder body and fitting clearance to piston or piston rod, with 0.05 mm negative tolerance, i.e.: h=Hmm.

(2) Width equals to groove depth -0.1mm.

(3) 45° or 60° inclined joint is preferred.

(5) Piston guide tape length calculation: L=π(CD-H)-G

(6) Piston guide tape length calculation: L=π(RD+H)-G

Note: L is guide tape length, in mm; CD/RD is cylinder liner diameter, in mm, H is piston groove depth +0.05mm (0.05 as fitting clearance between piston and cylinder wall); G is guide tape joint clearance, in mm.

II. Support ring

1. Material: PTFE, POM, PF

2. Hardness: 95A±5

3. Function: When used on supporting piston rod inside end cap of hydraulic cylinder, it protects the piston rod from damages by uneven force distribution due out-of-vertical force application, which may result in poor sealing effect and reduce service life.

4. Working media: Hydraulic oil, emulsion, compressed air and water.

5. Working temperature: -180°C~+250°C

6. Working pressure: ≤340MPa
