I. Structure
 The structure of capsule hole packer II is as shown below. Gas drainage pipe has 10 1m-long sections which allow free adjustment within 10m packing depth.

II. Function

Capsule hole packer is used for quick sealing of boreholes, to measure initial velocity of gas bursting from the borehole and to predict risks of coal and gas outburst on the working surface. EMPIRE hole packers may also be used to seal boreholes and to measure free release of gas.
 

III. Performance indicators

Capsule inflation pressure: 0.15MPa~0.2MPa.

Borehole diameter: 42mm~50mm.

Maximum borehole depth: 10m.

Inflation pipe diameter: 6mm.
 

IV. Instructions and Precautions
1. When the hole is drilled to depth required by initial gas velocity measurement, remove the drilling rod immediately and insert the hole packer to necessary depth so that the gas measurement chamber is 0.5m (outburst risk is measured by short-hole outburst initial velocity method) or 1m (outburst risk is measured by quantity of drill cuttings and maximum initial outburst velocity), then open the valve and inflate the capsule by using an inflator until the hole packer cannot be removed by hands. Then close the valve. Connect capsule hole packer to a flowmeter to measure the initial velocity of gas burst. After measurement is finished, open the valve, release pressure from the capsule and remove the hole packer.
2. Capsule hole packer II is reusable and it is very easy to replace rubber capsule.
